Calvin Klein Chairman Barry Schwartz Sells Indian Creek Site

The chairman of Calvin Klein, Barry Schwartz, has sold his property in Indian Creek for $19.2 million, according to a press release from Coldwell Banker.

Property records indicate the 2.75 acre vacant site on the west side of the island, previously sold for $15.5 million in 2005.

indian-creekSchwartz was represented by Jill Eber and Jill Hertzberg, who go by the name “The Jills.” This sale marks only the 15th property sold on Indian Creek, an enclave near Miami Beach since 2006, according to the Jills, who claim credit for selling six of them. The press release did not name the buyer.

“The Schwartz family was incredible to work with, and this land is nothing short of spectacular,” said Jill Eber. “The Indian Creek market is extremely hot right now, especially this location with the wide bay on one side and the golf course on the other. Quite simply, there is no better location for the ultimate in security and beauty.”

The property at 9 Indian Creek Drive is one of only 34 waterfront estates in the Indian Creek Village and boasts 300 feet of open bay frontage, the press release said.

Last week, it was reported that AutoNation investor Edward S. Lampert had bought a 17,000 square foot estate in Indian Creek. That deal was handled by Kevin Tomlinson, a VP at One Sotheby’s Miami Beach.

Lampert reportedly paid $40 million.
